ARTIST BIO

Lauren Ibañez has a B.F.A in Studio Arts from the University of Texas in Austin, focusing her practice on illustration and printmaking. Influenced by comic books, film, and folklore, she creates intricate stories conveying both suspense and empathy. A focal point in her art deals with sharing stories and exploring illustration as a narrative language. 

Lauren has experience not only as an illustrator, but also an editor at The Daily Texan newspaper, working with reporters and artists while creating her own pieces. She currently works as a Freelance Illustrator for Next

Gen Radio and other news stations such as KUT in Austin, TX and

KLCC in Eugene, OR.
